Gday all. Please use this area to write comments about any tours you maybe doing. If you are having problem with a leg, found some great scenery you would like to share, or just seen something you wont to tell others. Wink

I'm doing leg 7 of IFR 01, YSSY>YLHI. The destination airport was not found in FMC, latest AIRAC cycle 1003. How are others flying this leg? I refuse to use Microsoft GPS, such navigation is suited only to flying on Gamespy in a GA aircraft, if that.

You either need to lower your standards on your choice of aircraft or there may be an issue with your AIRAC data.

I've always felt like I was cheating whenever I used that thing. In the real world you're never allowed to fly souly on a handheld GPS. I made the effort to learn FMC navigation, not using it feels like a step backwards. I think I'll have to fly this one VOR, ADF.

All airport are in your flightsim. We have no control over 3rd party software. If this is a problem see the software creators

Even VFR pilots fly map-to-ground.  I have flown quite often in outback Western Australia where a pilots position is confirmed by towns and major roads.  Our flights to Perth often followed the Great Eastern Highway.  In the default scenery you can pick the general area within a reasonable tolerance.  Hopefully the IVAe data update will assist if and when it is approved.

I'd like to start the Ozi Outback Adventure 3. I installed VOZ 1.8 which was a requirement for the previous Ozi Adventures which I've also flown. Nevertheless I didn't find the object(s) in leg 1. It says fly 75nm on heading 244° out of Parafield (http://ivaoau.com/events/Events_2009/VFR_Tour/legs/Leg1.htm) and then there are two objects to report. Do I need to install additional sceneries? On the tours.ivao.aero site there's only one link to  http://ivaoau.com/divtours/2009_OZI_VFR_Tour/leglist.htm which doesn't even mention the VOZ scenery.

The tours where modified to allow fsx to fly them so there is now no requirement to follow the instructions. However if you have FS9 and VOZ which you said you have and are up for the challenge you can still fly the original  tour as is was set out. I did read between the line in your question about finding the objects and am sure it said something about the 2 building, one looking like a lighthouse maybe. Congrats you are correct. Once you install Voz you should have everything you need

Thank you for the explanation. Yes I use FS9, I forgot to mention. I will fly the tour the "classic way". I've flown the first Ozi Outback Adventures back in 2006 and I still like tours which are more than "fly from A to B". Smiley
